One good way is to farm Elementals in Burning Crusade and the best location to do this is Nagrand near the Elemental Plateau. The Elementals here drop motes of air, water and fire, depending on the mob you kill. As soon as you have found ten of these motes they can be combined to make Primal air, water or fire which can be sold in the AH because they are needed for craft items. You can also go to Sea in Nagrand, south of the Throne of Elementals. Under water you can find elementals.

As an alternative to Nagrand you can find elementals in Netherstorm in the Ruins of Enkaat and in Shadowmoon Valley around the Hand of Gul’dan. Depending on the prices for the Primals in the AH you should be able to farm your 5000 WoW gold fast.
